Intrastate Carriers

Intrastate commerce means any trade, traffic, or transportation within any State which is not described in the term “interstate commerce.”

Definitions:

• Commercial Vehicle: any motor vehicle used or maintained for the transportation of persons or property for hire, compensation or profit or designed, used or maintained primarily for the transportation of property, and not specifically excluded.
• Intrastate Commercial: Any commercial motor vehicle limited to travel within the borders of South Dakota and used or maintained for the transportation of persons or property and not specifically excluded.
• Non-Commercial: Any automobile, pickup truck, or van.
• Non-Commercial Gross: Any vehicle that is not an automobile, pickup truck, or van.
